Chef and owner Sarah Gresko brings over fifteen years of culinary, management and hospitality experience to SweetGrass. She graduated Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales University in Charleston South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Food Service Management and Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Science in Restaurant Management. She also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Atlantic Cape Community College. Sarah trained and worked under renowned Chef Donald Barickman, nationally recognized for elevating the fine dining scene in Charleston with his opening of Magnolias in 1991.
Most recently she has worked as Executive Chef and Acting Food and Beverage Director at Doubletree Guest Suites in Mt.Laurel NJ, where she supervised 15 chefs/cooks and 12 servers and managed both front of the house and back of the house operations. Sarah also worked as a Pastry Chef for a busy West Berlin NJ bakery creating cakes and pastries.
Sarah recently relocated to Hopewell from Cherry Hill NJ, drawn by the small town charm of the Borough and the gastronomic vibe she hopes to become a key part of. Her Bold American style of cooking will be infused with touches of the south, paying tribute to her culinary roots which were first cultivated in Charleston.
